Coaches' Code of Ethics
All coaches of Titusville Soccer Club will comply with these standards.
A failure to abide by these standards may result in disciplinary action
1. Soccer belongs to the players. A coach must put the welfare of the game and the players above their own personal gain.
2. A coach will never engage in unsportsmanlike conduct and will not tolerate it in his or her players.
3. Coaches are not doctors but must direct all injured players to the appropriate emergency and medical providers.
4. A coach will not play an injured player when there is a risk that the injury could become permanent.
5. A coach will not authorize the use of drugs, medicines or stimulants by his or her team athletes.
6. A coach will not circumvent player eligibility rules.
7. A coach will know all the laws of the game and see to it that the coach’s players live up to both the letter and intent of these laws.
8. A coach will treat every player with respect and in a manner appropriate for the age of the player.
9. The coach will follow and abide by all the rules and regulations of the USSF, FYSA, Brevard Youth Soccer League and Titusville Soccer Club.
10. The coach will treat officials with respect and demand the same of their players, parent and fans.
11. The coach will avoid arguing with the opposing coach, the opposing players and any fans.

Coaches' Quick Guide
Sportsmanship
We want all players to enjoy the games they play. Coaches are a big part of that for both teams. You are a coach figure to every child at TSC, not just the players on your roster. Please don’t take that role lightly. Praise all positions and abilities, you as the coach should not put the emphasis on the score, or whether your team is winning or losing. Winning is not what either team’s focus should be on. Our focus should be on development, sportsmanship, working as a team, character building, and most importantly, having fun!

2
Mandatory Participation
TSC strives to be affordable to make the game of soccer available to all children. This is only possible because of club participation. Each team must provide a minimum of 4 participants once per season. Two participants for an hour and half field duty and two participants for an hour and a half concession duty. These participants are to sign up through the sign up genius link - found on the parent information page, so we know the slots are filled.
3
Got Sport App
You can find your team’s contact information, group chat, and schedule on the gotsport app. The app is free, but you must download it to your phone to use. Parents must be listed in their child's online gotsport account when they registered them as "parent" in order for the app to populate their information. PLEASE REMIND parents that the game schedule is subject to change, and they need to check it each week.
Risk Management
Fingerprinting, background check, safe sport, and heads up concussion are all required for risk management, and can be found on your gotsport account online. These must be completed to coach at TSC. These are mandated by FYSA and Brevard County Parks and Rec. There can be no interaction at practice or games with any players until these are completed. Please use your same email that is linked to your coaches’ gotsport account when completing these requirements. You are responsible for any player at the fields. If you allow parents to leave during practice, you may not leave until all players have been account for.
4
Fields and Practice
Please practice on your age-appropriate fields. Fields are first come, first serve, for both comp and rec teams. If there’s an open field not in your age group, you’re welcome to use it until someone from that age group arrives. Do not use a full field for your practices – work on small sided games – kids get the most touches this way. If a team show up and you are using a full field IMMEDIATELY move to one half of the field. Coaches should hold two practices a week. Below are some recommended practice lengths for each recreational age group:
U5/U6 – 30-45 minutes sessions
U8 and U10 60 minute sessions
U12 60 – 75 minute sessions
U14 60 - 90 minute sessions
U16 + 90 minute sessions
5
Referees
Coaches are responsible for themselves, their players, and their spectators. Do not yell at referees or allow your players or spectators to yell at referees. We are experiencing a nationwide referee shortage due to verbal and at times, physical abuse. U.S. Soccer is instituting strict guidelines and consequences for those who break their guidelines. The call the ref makes in the game is final, if you have a genuine concern or complaint, please talk to Grant Aleman, our referee assignor, after the game.

How to Reschedule an In House Game
You must notify each of the following by the Wednesday preceding the game
1. OPPOSING COACH All Coach contact information is available on the bottom of this page
2. REFEREE ASSIGNOR (Grant Aleman) phone 321 362-8446 tscheadreferee@gmail.com
3. SCHEDULER Melissa Kennelly phone 386 402 3339 myssik04@gmail.com
Work with the opposing coach to find a date/time that works for both teams, reach out to the Referee Assignor and Field Scheduler to ensure a field and a referee will be reserved for your game. This should be done BY the Wednesday before your scheduled game to avoid unnecessary referee fees. If you do not let the assignor and scheduler know, you will not have a referee for your game.
How to Reschedule a Game Against Another Club
If games against other clubs need to get rescheduled, then the club initiating the reschedule needs to start making contact with the opposing coach through the gotsport match chat. This process should start early enough (10 days in advance is recommended) so all reschedules for a given week are confirmed by all parties no later than noon on the Wednesday preceding the game. If not properly done-and in a timely fashion (by Wednesday afternoon before the scheduled game time), the responsible coach/coaches will be required to pay the Referee Fees for the rescheduled game. Do not expect to have a parent or coach referee the game. You will be liable for injuries should they happen. Protect yourself by going through the proper channels. The home coach is responsible for contacting the field scheduler/referee assignor of their club to make sure a field and referee are available.
